Fast, Efficient Plate Rolling
Longero can roll carbon steel (A-36), AR plate, Stainless Steel, and aluminum among other metals to your specifications. Typically we roll cylinders (full and partial) and cones (full and partial). We have also rolled a myriad of special projects, some combining plate rolling and press brake work.
Tolerances held on plate rolling are typically 1% of roundness and +/- .125”, depending on the size of the part rolled. When specifying plate rolling projects, the tangent material needs to be identified. Some customers want to trim their own tangent material or Longero is tasked with removal. Other projects require the tangent material to either be step broke or pre-rolled and trimmed.
A special application for our plate rolls are spiral stair stringers. Information such as thickness of section to be rolled, pitch of the staircase, height and the rotation direction of the stair are all needed to accurately roll your project. Contact us for a Spiral Staircase Worksheet.
Longero has several plate rolling machines. Our largest machine can roll .625” thick plate x 240″ long & 1″ thick plate x 120″ long. We can roll steel casings, tanks, and cylinder caissons up to 1″ thick. This machine can also roll thicker materials in shorter lengths. We also have smaller machines. Our Project Managers have many years of experience to help you properly specify your plate rolling project.
Plate Rolling Capabilities:
Our largest machine can roll .625” plate 144” long. The top roller on that machine is 14” in diameter. Typically, we can roll down to 1.2x the diameter of the rolls. This machine can also roll thicker materials in shorter lengths. We also have smaller machines. Our Project Managers have many years of experience to help you properly specify your plate rolling project.
